Looked at a FR2 Today

Hi Guys I looked at a FL2 today 2007 XS with 74000. Drove ok but I'm no mechanic but on inspection under the bonnet at the back of the engine looks like turbo breather pipes there was oil over the metal bracket. The plastic cover stopped me investigating any further. My question is what is the cause likely to be and should I let it put me of buying please.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

The breather pipes harden with age, and shrink slightly too, This allows the silly disposable clips lose clamping ability, and allow the oil in the breather pipe to creep past. The fix is remove the original clips, and replace with decent worm drive clips, problem solved. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.
Hyundai Ionic 5 Ultimate on order.

It depends on the price and what model you are wanting. I wanted an SE or HSE, as it was replacing a 2018 Mazda CX5, which was fully loaded, so I didn't want to take a huge drop in specification.
I paid £2k for my 58 plate SE, with 119,000 on the clock. It did need a head rebuild, a piston replacement, and still needs an ECU, but it was still an absolute bargain. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
