ABS Modulator Bleeding

Does anyone have details of the correct procedure to follow for bleeding the ABS Modulator using SDD after a master cylinder replacement.
Thanks.

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Lago Grey

Hi, first post from me, so I hope it's ok to reply this late. I've removed my ABS modulator for repair as it was showing HDC not availsble, a yellow brake warning lamp and a flashing yellow DSC lamp. I also had no cruise control.
Using an iCarsoft i930 I got the C0044 code 'Brake pressure Sensor'. I have sent the modulator to ECUtesting who offer a lifetime warranty. The original unit does not require recoding on fitting but will require to be bled. The i930 cannot actuate the ABS valves on the FL2 and neither can the Hawkeye. I've ordered an iCarsoft LR11 and hope that can. If not I will try a method I've had success with in the past -
Bleed the whole system manually, starting with furthest wheel from the master cylinder. Go for a canny Sunday morning drive on gravelly country roads, getting the ABS to cut in a few times, on hard braking, then bleed them all again. Worked perfectly on my Honda S2000.
If it doesn't clear all the air, guess it will be a dealer bleed.
If it is ok, I will post this repair with photos when I do the refit, as this is apparently a £1500 job from LR. All going well this should set me back under £300 with a lifetime warranty

Hi, replying to Martin re ABS bleeding, as I am not allowed private e-mail. The ABS did clear eventually after hooning arround a gravel car park. I went with the iCarsoft LR2 and it's the biz. Scans and identifies anf ABS issues and can run the pump to bleed it. Kinda must have if you have a Freelander.

Thanks for coming back to say it worked Shep, I will try this as don’t want to fork out for a new ABS Modulator that is worth more than the car. Not long had two rear tyres, bearing and 10 year service so I need a few more miles out of it yet!
