United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame
2006 satnav issues

Hi guys, been searching high and low for an answer to this....
Satnav worked for a few weeks when I bought the car a year ago.
Now when I select nav it will either say dvd read in progress and freeze OR
I’ll try i select destination and there will be no map to the right of the screen causing system to freeze.
OR it’ll let me select a postcode and it will say no route available.... disc is original and VERY clean.
Here’s some images...

Is the disc for this country ? Could you try another disc ? Maybe try a cleaning disc for the player.

Hi, the disc used to work fine. I’ve got a lense cleaner coming today so will give it a go. After that it might need to be a seat out and wiring check 😭

You can pick up a newer set of discs from a number of internet sellers.

A number of forum users have purchased from

https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/2019-2020-la...-197-p.asp

or

https://satnavstore.com/LandRover/2016-fre...isc-update

both are selling for about £25 - also if you are using the original discs a new set will include software system updates. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black

Given that the dvd unit could be 14 years old there is every chance that the laser pickup in it could have failed.

Cheers guys. I’ve run the cd lense cleaner through it. Still nothing but to be honest not sure it even did anything as it doesn’t recognise anything but a nav disc.
Don’t know anybody with another disc.
It freezes a lot too. When I hit the stanav button or when I hit agree. The whole thing just seems slow. Again not sure if this is the disc or wether it is in fact the unit itself

This is probably when you should junk the system and replace it with a more up to date system. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black

But it’s so nicely integrated 😩. Want to keep it as original as poss plus I don’t use the nav much but I’d like it to work

UKdrummer did you ever manage to fix this problem?

Thanks
