Just to resurrect this topic, the sellers solicitors consulted their client nearly 3 weeks ago and we received a reply which said go away and pay for the work yourselves when you move in.

I was prepared to wear the cost but SWMBO wanted an argument (no surprise there Laughing ). We replied immediately and said it was not fair to refuse point blank without even offering to meet halfway so we would have no choice but to lower our offer on the house unless they reconsider the allowance.

So just a couple of days ago, they replied to say they would give us half of the costs which is £525. Chalk one up for SWMBO Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Wait a minute I know how this goes,

She gets a new Radley handbag, but then she NEEDS the matching purse and umbrella ...... and of course the collapsible shopping bag that fits inside one of the many many pockets.
If it is near any holidays you will also be buying luggage to suit, and by near I mean within 2 years.

I have a wife with a collection of Radley necessaries.

Then again she does let me indulge in Land rovers Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
