I am stationary & a car on the road in front decides to reverse back into me without looking or hearing my horn that I was frantically sounding. Hardly my fault.

Let's say this happens to you regularly. Shocked

From the insurers point of view, will see you as a higher risk.

Maybe stay at home on days ending with 'y', or leave more space. Cool

Well it does not happen to me regularly & I think 10ft while stationary between me & the car in front is plenty. I dont quite understand what your trying to say ????

1 at fault accident in 46 years of driving I dont think is too bad & that was down to brake issues with my vehicle.

The accident was notification only to my car insurance, they paid out nothing & had no payments to recover. The problem was that they never closed the notification & thats why it was listed on the database as at fault.

They have now closed the notification & amended the at fault to not at fault on the data base so all should be ok from now on.

Its taken some time to sort this out but at least now its done.

Just a point on insurers .

Real people who you can talk to are worth paying a premium for . Real people who you can talk to and who are competitive are extremely rare . After losing my wife earlier this year I decided to keep her Freelander as my shooting/ fishing car . Lloyds Bank despite being great to deal with , giving me 30 days cover my wife’s policy as sole driver , and transferring a full 9 years no claims to me then wanted to wallop the premium up 30% for a new policy with less usage ! . They were great to talk to and an advisor actually told me I’d be crazy to renew ! Credit to them.

I got loads of internet quotes that were reasonable , all on line policies , but was I getting the cover I needed ? Who was I dealing with ? the Moral of this story is that in the end I phoned the site Sponser A plan insurance . Real people on the phone , listened to what I wanted , found a policy that gave me what I needed and didn’t package sell what I didn’t need . OK I might have saved £20 Online and got a fluffy mongoose or whatever chucked in , but after two calls with A plan to two different advisors I realised I was talking to people who valued customers .

I’d advise any forum members Looking for an insurer to give them a call , they certainly impressed me . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

2023 Toyota Hilux invincible X 2.8 Auto .

Thank you so much MartynB - that means a lot to us! Our client journey from the moment they speak to us on the phone is paramount to us here, especially in Thatcham Branch where we pride ourselves in serving the enthusiasts market.

Our reviews and the feedback we get is highly appreciated and the staff love to hear when people mention them online so I'm always quick to pass this on and make their day Smile Genuinely never worked for a company so client focused, it's refreshing!

Thanks again

our "other" car we went from 306bhp to 340bhp and it went Down by £40 to under £350 Cool

Always worth checking before buying another car just in case there is a Big increase or they want extra security or something adding as well Question

Glad you have got yours sorted BlueBoy
