I ran an additional cigarette lighter socket from passenger fuse box over to drivers side underneath dash and plug my sat nav into it, ignition live feed so it goes off when ignition off Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Both my front and rear sockets are live when the ignition is on - but then stay powered for up to a minute or more after the ignition is turned off. i used to turn off my camera dectector manually as i thought it stayed live - but it does go off eventually. Smile FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

Be aware that on the last versions of the FL2 the 12v sockets are all active together and come alive when instructed by car software.
Pressing Start Button or Opening Doors will bring them alive, although they will time out unless engine is running.
Nothing that you can do directly switches them on or off, like the radio they seem to have a mind of their own, which partly seems to be governed by the battery state. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I would imagine the fuse blown due to something metallic coming into contact with the socket while the socket was empty? If the previous owner has kept keys in the centre console, one of the keys could have easily slipped into the socket and fused it.

I dropped a coin and it shorted out the lighter circuit. i keep in USB socket in it now. Jules

Spot on Ianmetro! just fitted a new battery and now the sockets stay on much longer when the ignition is turned off - don't know how long as i got bored waiting after 10 minutes- perhaps they go off when you lock the doors? Smile FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

Mine is a later model (64 plate) so it could be as IanMetro says?

It’s interesting that the socket could remain powered up for much longer than you would imagine once the ignition etc is all switched off.

The 12 volt plug adaptor that I use for my Dash Cam has an integral light so I think what I will have to do is leave the dash cam on, leave the vehicle, lock the doors and look through the window to see if it does in fact go off after a minute or so.

My daughters Vauxhall Astra's radio stays on (don't know for how long) with the key removed until the drivers door is opened.

I checked it out and yes it does finally shut down! It took about 2-3 minutes after switching the ignition off, didn’t need to lock the doors I sat inside and watched.

Thanks for all your help on this guys.
