Retrofit SatNav

Inspired by others on the forum I had a go at installing a retrofit SatNav today. Not quite as neat a finish as others but only had about 1mm overlap for installing in place of the cubby box and doubted I could make a neat job of it.

The SatNav is a Garmin Navi with a 7inch screen. I removed the dash and took out the cubby then drilled three holes through the side of the cubby and through the windscreen mount for the SatNav through which I fed three 2mm screws (tightened using a flat head screwdriver when the cubby was out, holding the bolt inside the cubby with a spanner). The SatNav has a right angle on the charger which meant it wouldn't fit through an existing hole at the back of my cubby box - I'm sure I could have sourced an alternative but instead I drilled a 40mm hole in the base of the cubby. If ever I remove the SatNav installation it will be covered by the rubber mat.

I am feeding the SatNav from a 12V splitter (also feeds a dash cam) plugged into the front cig lighter (ignition switched) and tucked out of sight beneath the dash.

Pictures below - any comments/suggestions/criticisms welcomed.
