United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

Back in the 1960s, I fitted wider (van) rims and wider, lower profile radial tyres, using spacers, to a HA Viva, in the vain hope of decreasing it's understeer.

The short story is that the different offset/loading wrecked 2 sets of front wheel bearings within the year.

I removed them (and still probably have them somewhere in my garage junk)

What effect has different offsets/ spacers have on (modern) FL2 bearings? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 74k+ miles) (MY2015)

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Baltic Blue

I’m not too sure to be honest Ian, hopefully the current 10mm difference in offset I have with the Velar wheels has very minimal effect if any. I don’t want spacers fitted, just seen some BFG tyres in 265 for a good price that I’d like to fit to my 18s for winter. I ask, as although I’d like to improve the looks of my landy, I wouldn’t want to compromise on safety

I have some silly 235/35 r19 tyres on mine. With spaces, would i fit some 255 Duratec's or Grabbers?

235/35 r19...... the car will be dragging its arse!

That's 114mm less in diameter than my 255/60 r18, or in other words 57mm lower.

Shopping centre speed bumps will give it a red arse! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
