I've had similar with the rear windows sometimes refusing to open, and on one occasion refusing to close resulting in a rather draughty and noisy 40 mile trip home. An overnight disconnect of the battery finally sorted that last one.

I've been charging all of my cars and I haven't had any problems.

I think sitting in a car park with the engine running for ten minutes would be illegal in UK, but I’m sure other, more legally minded, posters can confirm!

It might not be illegal but is certainly antisocial. Ian.

If idling the engine for 10 minutes won't work for your situation then I would recommend one of these.
