Seat belt warning chime

Hi all, I am new here and the proud owner of a 08 LR2. I live in Florida, USA

I was hoping someone here has figured out how to disable the seat belt warning chime. The one that dings when you do not put on the seat belt. I work as a construction project manager and drive from one side of the job site to the other (no public roads) and do not put on a seat belt. I also keep items on the front passenger seat that set off the weight monitor that sets the warning chime off.

I would love to be able to turn both the driver and passenger chimes off. I always put the seat belt on when I am going to drive on the road, but on the jobsites it is really annoying. I know in my Ford Super Duty pick up, you had to turn on the headlights, click on and off the seatbelt, and something else to disable the chime. I am hoping there is something like this for the Land Rovers as well.

Thanks for any information you might be able to give.

Great site by the way, lots of information here!

Think you have to buckle and unbuckle it a number of times in a row, 10 or 11? FL2 TD4 XS manual, XS style pack, Martinique Blue

press the stop start with no feet on pedals first, to turn on the ignition. not a quick press though. a long press is needed to fully turn the ignition on. That bit is important, it confuses people (dave Whistle )

then 9 times buckle in/out in one minute should do it, car beeps once its done if I remember At work

Great guys, thanks so much!
I did a search but did not find that particular post, must have been late.

I will disable the seat belts chimes this afternoon.
And as soon as I have some free time, I willpost up some pics of my vehicle. I have already ordered a lift for it, and due to the lack of bumper/winch options, I will be building some myself. I will keep all informed of this progress.

And I have a list of other modifications I will be performing, as they cometogether I will post up pics and info.

Thanks again for the help

Here is the correct procedure (nicked from Freddy who has nicked it from someboby else Whistle )

Simply sit in the car, turn on ignition, without starting the engine & then rapidly (within 1 min) put the safety belt in & out of the clip 10 times!

On the 10th time the safety belt light will stay on & you’ll hear a chime.

Then after that when you drive without your seat belt on you’ll still get the safety belt light but not the chiming.

If you want to re-enable the chime, just repeat the process. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
