Next New Car

Hi all got a problem,

When we all go back to work I'm looking at changing my job so I need a van, so here lies my problem, do I sell both BMW and Freelander and buy a new car or a new 4x4, I'm thinking 4x4 so do I go for a Disco Sport or a Evoque, will have about £25000 to spend, what's everyone's choice or give me something new.

Thanks Wayne

Not What, but When?

What do you want to do in your car.

If its only a runabout for short journeys, then now is the time to go electric.

If its your main car, and you see long recreational journeys, another diesel would be ideal.

And in between you have now loads of PHEVs around, new and second hand.

With the used car market closed and most likely in for a big change, I expected your question to be, 'When do I sell / Buy my next car?' FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Run one vehicle & save money. Get a van & stuff it full of acoustic insulation so it's quiet! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I suspect that we are in for big changes to vehicle markets over the next few years, so I wouldn’t want to tie up silly amounts of money in a vehicle that could become next to worthless overnight on a Governmental whim! We have three cars in the household, with a total value probably less than a third of your suggested £25k! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

How about one of these? My son in Kenya has just had his company vehicle replaced after his Hilux kept breaking down after doing galactic mileages driving mainly off road on and between farms.

it's a 2017 (so brand new by Kenyan standards) Ford Ranger Wildtrak with V6 diesel. (Diesel is only about 60p/litre) So far he is very impressed with it on and off road. He lives only about 10 miles from where the new Defender was tested.

Swap everything for a 4x4 Crew Cab Van

A list of suggestions, includes the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, which covers the Electric world (but only 2 seats).

My favourite is the VW transporter Dual Cab 4-Motion.
