ctek mxs 5.0 Charger query

So, I’ve had a ctek mxs 5.0 for a while, never used it as I bought it to charge a 1/6th Scale Armotek Tiger I bought a built a while ago. Anyway, Long story short, FL2 is laid up for the foreseeable future and thought I would plug it in as it’s not doing the usual 700 miles a week it normally does. To that end, it’s been plugged in for a few days now but hasn’t move past position number six. Any ideas why it won’t progress past this to the trickle charge 7 stage?

Info, it’s a MY13, non stop start, normal battery and on a basic charge mode, not recon or AGM.

That should not happen with the charger and/or a good battery technically. I use a Ctek 4.3 Polar and have never had that issue. I would unplug it for a minute and plug it back in again and see if it completes the cycle, should be no more than 1 hour if everything is working correctly? A meter could be useful to see what different voltages are being put out. If you are constantly in and out of the vehicle even though you are not driving it and it's plugged in, it may drop down to the last orange light temporarily.

If it's not on recon mode then it should just jump from 5 to 7.

Is the error light lit?

Thanks for the reply, no no warning light or errors, Just set to the standard charger mode, Ive even cycled through the recon and AGM to make sure is just on basic charge mode.

If I charge wife's Diahatsu Copen with the battery insitu the Ctek charger doesnt complete its cycle. If I disconnect the battery from the car then it does.
Why, I dunno ? Jules

That’s perfectly normal. It’s stays on the first green light and varies between that and the second (last) green light. Something to do with charge variations.
It’s in the instructions but I don’t have them to hand at the moment. Derek Hill

So, to clarify:
1.The green light on lower left is on and not blinking
2. The orange light below car symbol is on and solid
3. The orange light at the #6 position is on at the top middle of unit but it never goes to green, ever?

^If you have all of 1 to 3 as I described above, then I would unplug the unit from the wall and plug it back in after 30 seconds then leave it for about an hour. If it never goes to position #7, green, along the top middle, I think that's an indication that the charger is not working correctly or that the battery is weak and won't return a "full" response when tested by the charger algorithm.

My charger does this but when I disconnect the battery is goes all the way through the cycle with Green light at the end.
The battery in question is old but functions satisfactorily.
All I can think is that there is something on the car that is taking current during the charging. Jules

Couple of pages from the manual, also highlighted bit from safety section. If not got to step 7 after 50 hours there is a fault.

I've got a Victron 10amp Bluetooth charger. It will also charge at a reduced rate & you get the charging status on your phone. Also bought a 12 volt 2 metre extension lead with it to reach the battery in my garage. It comes with a plug you can leave connected to the battery as well as alligator clips. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
