Reverse dip mirror failing intermittently

Hi,

My mirror of the driver's side is failing (we drive from the left in Brazil).

Sometimes when I put the car in reverse (not always), it goes more down than it should and sometimes it goes back up more than it was for no reason.

My first thought was a failure in the motor behind the mirror then I replaced it with an original one and the problem persists (LR015051).

It only happens on the driver's side, passenger's work as expected always even when the driver fails.

Even odder, when it fails, if I hold the memory seat button for a couple of seconds it moves back to the original position.

I've been thinking in the comfort module because when I press the button, the mirror moves only while I'm holding the memory button (so, I have to hold for a couple of seconds).

Although, when the failure doesn't happen, I don't have to keep it pressed to switch configurations.

This is a known problem? What's the solution?

Thanks!

FL2 MY2014 HSE SD4.

Hi Sobrinho, have you tried doing a reset of the seat and mirrors position to perhaps the number three spot on the memory switch beside the driver seat .

Do you always use the same key? My disco had different settings for the both keys Whistle 'per aspera ad astra'

^^^^^ Good point! Makes sense as I rotate keys to always keep them with enough charge. I will have to test this hypothesis for my model year!

I only use the same key, the backup one is failing and I never use it.

I set exactly the same configuration in the three memories to discard the possibility of the car picking other configs by mistake but it didn't fix, so it's not that either. Big Cry
