Australia 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Lux Auto Barolo Black
New Member needs help with Sat Nav Updates (Australia)

Hello to all

I am new to this forum and wondering if anyone is able to advise me on updating the Sat Nav Maps, I have followed several posts and can now understand that my maps are from 2011 which is woeful seeing its a MY13 but moving on my vehicle is a 2013 HSE Luxury with just over 35,000k on it left to me by my son who passed away I want to keep this vehicle but have been given the run around from LR and also many map site who have sold me useless disks as mine is a HDD Update requiring a USB which I have also read about.

I am after any help at all and thank you all in advance for allowing me into this forum

Robert

Hi & welcome.
The HDD GEN2.1 map database can be updated by either the USB input in the centre console OR via the dvd slot in the centre dash fascia.
If your using “Disc” you need to make sure it’s for “GEN2.1” infotainment.
With USB or Disc just insert and follow prompts on screen.
You either have to have the engine running or ignition on with a battery support power source.
USB Takes around 30 minutes v’s disc about 1 hr. MY15
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Surround Camera System
InControl Apps soon to be replaced with CarPlay (WIP)

4x4i screen (WIP)
Digital Broadcast TV
Meridian Rear Media with WIFI

Thanks Stuartc

Yes I understand what your saying but I'm being told by JLR and also the Landrover Map site that there are no updates available for this vehicle which I believe to be untrue. I have used the so called secret options and found that my map is 2011. I did end up purchasing a DVD from www.landrover.navshop.com.au which stated Freelander2 from 2013 to 2015 and it was supposed to be a HDD update but upon placing it in the DVD all I get is DVD Error.

With your knowledge do you know what disc I should be looking for will the Land Rover Disco 4 DVD be of any use.

Thanks in Advance

Robert

That’s the correct disc.

Do you get an error if you put a dvd or cd in or do they play normally? MY15

Stuartc

Music CD's play quiet fine and I'm unaware of any problem with the drive today I will try the following I will create an ISO of the disc and extract it to a USB Stick and see if it makes any difference. I will let you know how it turns out.

Robert, that was going to be my next suggestion but then thought you might have already returned the disc!

I hope it works out for you.

All sorted giving it a wide berth seems the latest maps that are available for my model are 2015 which are 4 years ahead of what I have but still 5 years behind today. I can not justify spending so much time sorting out something that will move me forward only a fraction, seeing LRJ just shrugg their shoulders and mutter words under their breath I've decided to buy a RAM Mount and slap the Ipad Mini in when required.
I thank you guys for helping.
