New polymer £20 featuring painter Turner enters circulation

You'll soon no longer find Adam Smith in your wallet or purse. The economist has been replaced as the face of the £20 note by artist JMW Turner.


I was once in a pub drinking with some guys I didn't know, when one said to me "my name is on every £20 note". He then bet me £20 it was true. So I gave him a £20 note and said prove it, as I thought it was only the Chief Cashiers Bank of England who 'signed' notes.
Well he opened his wallet and pulled out his driver's licence ........ there it was Mr Adam Smith. He did confess not to be the economist but a trade counter manager at a local builders merchant !!

Well that's a form of income he can't rely on in the future.
