Advice please

Owner of a 2010 Freelander2 with 100k miles on the clock. Now needs a new clutch and in two minds over the investment or time for a change. Would appreciate views on any longer term issues if I invest in the clutch? Car is in pretty good condition and serviced regularly. Some minor niggles with door lock.
Thanks

How much will a new clutch cost?

Is the car driving well enough to be disposed of in a trade in, or is it too obvious already?

What other options are you considering?

How many miles a year do you do?
If it’s 50k you will be looking at an expensive service in a year, 5k miles and it’s a long way off.
Don’t wait for the door lock to fail, change it now, takes a couple of hours and not much cost for materials.
And welcome Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

How long have you had the motor? what mileage do you do?

I'd get the clutch done. I did and don't regret it. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

Thanks all for replies and advice to date

I do about 20k a year and have been quoted £1500 including flywheel.

I’m heading towards biting the bullet and getting it done.

mines done 100K but its a little bit older than that, my clutch started slipping a few weeks ago and I'm not giving it a second thought, IMO its just part of the cost of running an older car so I just get on with it.

If the car is generally in good condition and you like it.. what else are you going to swap it for? whatever you get can have problems, better the devil you know.

Is there any other work included in that quote?. I think I paid £900 2-3 yeas ago but I've seen other on here paying about the £1k mark. It might be worth getting some more quotes to compare.
