Bootlid handles old and new style

Ive a 2014 Freelander 2 obviously fitted with the facelifted chrome finished larger boot handle.
I was just driving along this morning behind an older car with the smaller handle and wondered, does the handle make much difference to how dirty the rear screen gets. Obviously the later one covers virtually the entire width of the screen and I dont think its too bad for road spray compared to other estate cars Ive owned previously.
Anybody had or have one of each model that can answer my idle curosity?
(And having had this thought this morning, whats the chances that my tailgate switch should pack up this afternoon which will require removal of said handle Rolling Eyes } Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I don't know if the size of the handle is the issue, but up under the bottom edge of the glass of the boot window it is full of dust.


Also under the boot tread.


While at it the plastic strip on the bottom edge of the windscreen is full of dust.

Got both models Bob and there's no difference whatsoever , mine has a tailgate spoiler which doesn't help much though in rainy/damp weather.
