Lack of drive

Had the well know problem of lack of drive quite some time ago and sorted it by installing an extra earth lead. Has happened a couple of thimes this morning again but is accompanied by the battery lamp illuminated. Now it all sounds as if the same problem again but strange I never had the battery lamp last time around.

Have you checked the output voltage of the alternator?

Is there a similar update for manuals? Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

Do you mean actual lack of mechanical drive or just lack of starting? I used to get that lack of drive if I was too quick shoving it in gear after starting. I mean really quick sticking it in drive or reverse.

Re the alternator light - it's a known fault if you check on here - a break in the thin blue wire going to the alternator - it breaks/frays underneath the fuel filter so you need to remove that to get to it. A fairly easy job. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Has mysteriously gone away as it did arrive.
