ELECTRIC SEATS INSTALLATION

Hi all.
I’ve purchased a set of electric seats to put in my FL2 to replace the standard cloth.
I have a wiring guide off here which is fine however please can somebody confirm if both seats should have a module underneath them or if it’s just the drivers one and that powers both seats as there only seems to be the wiring for the box on the drivers.
Photos are attached.

Thanks

The memory module is only in the driver's seat. Only the driver's seat can recall memory positions. The module has the VIN programmed to it, so if you use a dealer tool you'll get a DTC for incorrect VIN but it doesn't have an effect on function.

Thank you for the reply. So as soon as I wire this in they should
In theory work. Any suggestions on the best type of wire to buy for it all?

Most likely. Although I did do the sat nav mod successfully 🤣🤣. I’m can do the job if I have the right things- just not clued up on wire thicknesses etc

Going by other scattered posts, I think the OP has taken the leather covers off the electric seats and fit them to their original car seats, cloth trim removed. I guess there is no fear of how cold leather seats get in the winter compared to cloth!

Also makes me wonder if its possible to make a passenger seat into a memory seat Very Happy

Yeah I just swapped the frames over. Wasn’t really too fussed about the electric memory to be quite honest. Had the car two years and I’ve never adjusted the drivers seat so the electric button would remain dormant anyway. At least I have the leather in the car and it looks a tad better. Plus I get an armrest 👍

Ntaylor I'm trying to do the exact same as you but struggling to get the electric seats to work as my S trim doesn't have the power connection in the wiring harness. Considering swapping the leather (electric) over onto the material seats (manual), but the manual back adjustment wouldn't work as thats electric too.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?
