Mine stopped folding / opening all the way last week again. I folded them fwd, sprayed the tracks with grease and all is ok again

Copper grease mine after every wash.  If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Passenger mirror started doing this, very easy fix thanks to this thread. Easy to manually push mirror housing as described, quick squirt with WD40 Silicone Lubricant, kept for maintaining window runners etc. Move it through the range again a couple of times, sorted.

I simply spray on some Selleys Ezy Glide, probably about every 6 or so months. http://www.selleys.com.au/home-cleaning/lubricants/ezy-glide It is quite handy for other stuff. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Apologies if this Technical Bulletin has already been posted for the Freelander 2 juddering side mirror issue:

I tightened the two screws per the instructions (torques head screws) and it appears to have stopped the juddering. The screws weren't very loose to start with. It applies to 2008 to 2015 models.

Take care when removing the plastic rear mirror cover as it pops off quickly and could fall on the floor - ask me how I know

Also 2 NM is not much on the small screws so be gentle.

Fyi, I used the long side (not the end) of a 12 inch steel rule to press the cover up at the base of the colour coded cover. I used a thin cloth wrapped around the ruler to prevent it scratching the cover.

I didn't apply any lubricants to the mirror.

According to the manual you have to get the Landrover dealer to programme your car to stop it from auto folding.

Interesting bulletin that, it only applies to mirrors that have the two piece back cover. My FL2 falls within the VIN range listed but it has the single piece rear cover, which cannot be removed! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
