Fixed with 3M body tape. The N/S rear Disco 3 arches have the same arc as both the F2 N/S/R arch and O/S/F arch. They also sit on the bodywork almost perfectly, with only the one gap at the nsr where it would meet the skirt on the bottom of the door.
With further work I reckon I can get them to fit in conjunction with the skirt. Obviously the door shut is incorrect but it wouldn't take much to sort this. Similarly there would be no join at the N/S front centre, but a join would be created at the point where the bumper meets the wing.
Measured, they give me an extra width per corner of 25mm at the rear and 20mm at the front, as although the arc of the Freelander's arches is the same front and rear, the actual bodywork contours are not, obviously . The American arches give 40mm both front and rear (last pic).

Nor was the RR,RRS,Evoque etc, but that's what the owners want, so they had wide arch bodykits made for them.

I'm glad you mentioned Carlos Fandango, there are plenty of members on here with 20" and 22" rims. Freelander was never intended for such big rims, but they fit and have been fitted. Wheels that would put Carlos himself to shame Rolling with laughter

I'm looking at fitting the arches to compliment the lift and bigger tyres, not to "Slam it to the ground with massive bling alloys, rubber band tyres , impractical Premier League footballer body kit and gaudy wrap."
I have no intentions of turning my F2 into a "boy racer" modded car either. Very Happy
Everything I do to my Freelander 2 will have a practical application, not just aesthetic ones.

Here's my old Freelander 1 V6 I modded, with everything done to it done for a purpose:

Lift, rollcage, bucket seats , magnesium wheels, wheels spacers, underbody protection..........the list goes on. Still practical enough to be my every day vehicle too. And subtle enough to get lost in a supermarket car park !
Guess what ...? Freelander 1 was never intended to be a rally car.
Turns out that with the mods, it is a bloody fantastic rally car. Who knew Whistle

Dont get me wrong.... i love what you have done/are doing to your Freelanders, especially the FL1's

Hey,

Did anyone get any further with this project? I am interested to hear of any details, as keen to potentially take up the gauntlet.

Over the next few days will be looking at Disco 3 kits to modify based on the responses so far.

I contacted Powerful UK and mentioned the wider arches. They told me they had some arches in the pipeline and that they already had the fronts sorted - but were having trouble with the rears due to the door shut. At this point I decided to see what they have planned , rather than spend any more time and effort completing mine. It's winter, and as I have moved, I would have to do the work outside, at the kerbside. Not a prospect I relish as it means constantly fettling the arches, removing them, taking them up the garden to the shed to fibreglass them, taking them back to the car to check the fit, taking them back up the shed etc, etc.Whereas if I had a garage, I could just move from the vehicle to the bench in a matter of feet and they'd be done by now.
There are no longer any pics on this thread as I've deleted all pics from my gallery as it was getting rather full. I didn't realise that removing them from your gallery meant they would also be removed from the thread too.

Personally I wouldn't touch them. They're not hubcentric, meaning when you mount the wheels to them , the wheel will sit on the top most stud until you start fitting the nuts. The wheel can move around as nuts are tightened causing damage to the threads. In essence, the wheel may not be centred. Also, all the weight is on the studs, not on the hub.

This is what you need ^^^
The wheel will go over the centre ring, the wheel will be central. No risk of damaged threads.
