[Wanted] Freelander 2 - 2008 - 2013 GS-XS Manual

Hi, I live in West Yorkshire, looking for a Freelander 2 in good condition, preferably with service history, lowish miles and cambelt change if appropriate.Am ready to purchase one this month, prefer cloth or alacantra interior, so if your thinking of selling and within an hour or two of west Yorkshire, then please contact me with details.

Dont fancy an automatic, am old fashioned like a manual, so many to choose form on ebay and autotrader, need to avoid a lemon though!

you also want to check that the 10 year service has been done - thats a big one, cambelt, waterpump, gearbox oil, heldex
also clutch is weak on the manual - so avoid one with a towbar. Reverse gear is very high ratio - so that eats into the clutch when manoeuvring with a trailer/caravan.

That said - I tow with a manual and love it.

I also get great MPG - 45-46MPG on a run.

SD4's only come with a special needs gearbox. Extra 40HP and a 6 speed auto box , what's not to like Thumbs Up 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep
2013 SD4 HSE The posh one for towing the caravan
1973 Triumph Stag I bought in 2009 and restored.

I was exactly the same. Hated autos, with my experiences mostly being the hideous old 3 and 4 speed units, with rubbish fuel economy and performance and the sensation of a permanently slipping clutch Evil or Very Mad

My first two FL2’s were manuals, but I gradually found that the 6 speed in the Freely was every bit is nice to drive as the manual, but much more useable off road and lacked the easy to burn clutch when manoeuvring a trailer off road. It also helped to compensate for the lack of low range off road and have access to the much more sprightly SD4 Thumbs Up

My last 4 Land Rovers have now been autos.

As above , the Sd4 is the one to go for and is a nice combo with the autobox , we've got an Sd4 and a manual Td4 and the auto really does suit the Fl2 very well . The wife's got my auto at the minute and doesn't want her manual Fl2 back .
