Oil Pressure Light

Hi Guys, on my FL Metropolis 2014 there appears not to be an oil pressure light. According to the handbook there should be one but carefully looking at the gauges with a bright torch, I cannot see the outline of where it should be. Anyone help?

I thought the oil pressure warning light should illuminate when ignition is turned on but engine not yet started. If not then there is a fault within the circuit. warning light should go out when engine starts. It looks like an oil can.

I'll have a look tomorrow to see where it is in relation to the other warning lights. Jules

What jules said. There is no way it will not have the oil pressure warning light. Does the handbook not show a picture with the location of it, there is a picture in the handbook for the earlier models.

Thanks for the answers guys. Well, I’m now 90% convinced it does not have one. After looking at loads of video on YouTube trying to spot later models with the ignition on but without the engine running, I’ve not seen one yet! I’ve seen video of the Evoque and that also does not appear to have an oil light. So I checked another of my JLR cars and that definitely does not have an oil light. Anyway, it’s back to the JLR people soon for the definitive answer. Freelander 2 Metropolis. 2014

Drainpipe - well I never - you are right -there is no oil pressure warning light check during ignition only or start up.

Just shows how observant we are (not) Laughing

Ive photo'd the sequence.

This is the most you get at any time.

I can only presume an alarm comes on if oil pressure drops below minimum level. Jules

The oil pressure sensor is just above and slightly to the left the oil filter on the TD4/SD4 so I guess one could unplug it and see want happens in the way of dashboard warnings .

FYI the oil temp sensor is to the right of the oil filter but lower down. Jules

Low oil pressure warning is part of the “command centre” warnings.
Picture for illustration purposes only as it’s a bit hard to produce one on request
