7 pin to 13pin plug

Right I have 13 pin tow socket on the landy and I don’t know how but I have lost the adapter so I can plug in my 7 pin trailer. So I am wondering if it is ok to swop 7 pin plug to a 13 pin plug. I am asking because for the side lights the 13 pin plug has a pin for LH and rh side lights were as the 7 pin has only one pin and one wire for both side lights.. So does any one know if this will be ok, will it work or will this throw up errors, brick the car. These pre 2012 landys seem a bit temperamental to me. Thanks marto GS Sd4 2012

Doesn't matter wire up which ever side you want for side lights, the wires and pins will take that small load. The 13pin uses RH and LH as most modern cars have fuses for each side. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Unless your seven pin plug is incorrectly wired, it should have separate wires for left and right side lights.

I believe small trailers only use one of the side lamp circuits, the same for the brake lights, costs are cut to the bone using cable having fewer cores than the normal 7 core cable the caravan industry use my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
