Wheel Arch Rubbers lifting

Noticed yesterday that the lower bit of the rubber on just the one wheel arch rear off side, was lifting a bit. Rest looked fine and firmly in place, reckon its been a bad fit from new. Rather than rip it all off I decided to clean the rubber and paintwork down and use some superglue on it, seems to have worked but I will keep an eye on it. Picture not really showing it, but its now raining!

Yep not a great bit of trim once they start to flop down at the ends - I have binned all mine - not sure that there is any case for paying for new replacement ones now that my car is 12 years old. I suppose I should clean the arches and get some waxoyl round the rims - probably more cost effective.

found one of mine hanging off the other day, just dangling on by the last few inches. One more is missing completely. Not sure if its been pinched or just fell off. the leading edge on the other two is lifting too so probably need to have em off and glue em back on.

Laughing

had a quick brush when I was looking at it and was suprised how much crap fell out. Use mine on stuff like building sites, farm tracks/fields and old pit tips at work so the arches get muddy pretty regular.

Rubbish collects in the plastic that goes on the sill too.

The wheel arch rubbers have a steel core but they are just cut and the ends arenโ€™t sealed, so they rust. Iron oxide or rust takes up more space than the steel so the ends swell and they lose strength and can fall off. Check the area that they are supposed to protect, I found a couple of areas of rust under mine.
