Does anyone happen to know the torque wrench setting for caliper guide pin bolts on a MY 14 with EPB? My Haynes manual doesn't cover it. Just says 22ftlbs for the older version.

Just use a normal ring spanner and tighten the bolt until you get a lump behind your ears, then it’s tight enough. Rolling with laughter

I cleaned the threads with a tap & die, applied blue locktite and set the torque to 30Nm. Jules

Im not sure why they say to use new bolts for the FL2 - they're not stretch bolts and these didnt have Locktite on them.

Ive never replaced caliper bolts (unless severely corroded) - just cleaned them (the threaded ends often go rusty as they stick out the other side of the hub) and added new locktite. Jules

Yes, in the past Ive replaced pads which came with new caliper to carrier/ sliding pin bolts - cant remember which car it was though.

The FL2 is the only vehicle Ive come across where carrier to hub bolts are replaced. Im sure there are others. Jules

Apparently there are three types of engineer,
Aeronautical engineer - he uses a torque wrench set to the exact torque
Mechanical engineer - he uses a torque wrench but then gives it another half turn for good measure
Civil engineer - he tightens the nut with his fingers and then lets it rust on. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
