2008 LR2 clunking noises

Wife says she hit a pothole, front passenger, and this clunking noise started. It's a steady "clunk" with what seems like every revolution of drive shaft but turn right or left and the noise speeds up considerably. Mechanic friend thinks its the power transfer unit. Thoughts on this and how hard to remove and replace? Car has 149,000 kilometres.

I’d also check the driveshaft CV joints, especially as you say the sound speeds up on turning the steering. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......
