Im currently sourcing the TV module and premium amp for my Evoque 2014. It already has sat nav and DAB.

Successfully install the amp and enabled it today.

Only took 6 months of searching auction sites to find the left rear trim panels with speakers! There was/is loads of the right sides available.

Thanks to the information in this extremely-useful post, I have learnt a lot about the different hifi options for Jaguar and Land Rover.

I have a 2012 Freelander 2 HSE with the Alpine Premium Dolby Prologic II head unit incorporating the 6CD changer and satnav, DAB radio and bluetooth handsfree.

I am currently trying to upgrade the speakers and amplifier and keeping the existing head unit. It seems very difficult to replace the existing speakers with plug-and-play aftermarket items, so after a lot of internet searches, my plan of attack is to replace the existing dashboard speakers (centre and left/right woofer and tweeters) with second-hand Meridian items, followed by the upgraded 'Premium Audio' amplifier. If I can pull this off, I will eventually replace the subwoofer, then the door speakers.

I think I can source second-hand Meridian dashboard speakers and a Premium Audio 1280Watts amplifier - this will be my 'first phase'.

I'm hoping the Premium Audio amp will replace my existing amp without any modifications.

Do you know if I can replace the existing amp with the new amp without modification? Is that simple or does the CCF need recoding (I'm not adding/removing anything - just installing different amp)?

Firstly, this thread is for “Meridian” equipped vehicle not Alpine as you’ve stated in yours.
Secondly, what your proposing will not work, plugs, pinouts, harnesses, wiring and software as well as the CAN & MOST are all different.
As this is your first post may I suggest you do some research and you’ll understand the differences and why it won’t work. MY15

Thanks for the reply. About 2 weeks ago I started with a blank Google screen and spent a lot of time trying to find out the most cost-effective way of improving the sound in my FL2. I went down a lot of dead-ends, so after finding this post which contains people who obviously know a lot, my best option was to ask someone for advice.

So based on your advice, I will continue to search this forum for a more relevant post...

Based on the car spec in your biog, you have an Alpine based pre-2013 car which I personally know nothing about the electrical system of, so I'm not able to help.

Just seen this and I’m amazed how some people treat their posts like they’re using their personal email expecting prompt reply to their requirements especially as they’ve only just joined with “6” posts. Not only this they don’t even bother to have the correct signature on their information which Vanny correctly pointed out does not apply for this topic.
Im more than happy to help other owners, which I have! I’ve answered Many” PM’s, but if your going to be rude then I’m sorry!
From my experience those who don’t bother to give all the details such as correct vehicle details, tool being used for programming and work carried out beforehand then usually it ends up in a “ping pong” message process of going through the basics which I really haven’t got time to do!
