Privacy glass causing week radio signal.

Turns out my strange noise is down to the tinted rear windows blocking the "in glass" radio antenna signal.
So out come the tints...nah only kidding anybody else heard of this ? Razz

That would happen if the tint film is electrically conductive.

I dont think the elements are damaged. Aparently there are traces of metal in the film used..? Its worth meantioning for the people consisdering having it done as it really does weeken the signals. Smile

I find the radio signal to be pretty crap anyway so covering the antenna with a film that has metal traces in it will only make it worse.

Just my 2p worth. Cool

I've got after-market 80% tint fitted and have No Probs with the arial/radio signal.

Move to the sticks Dave. Works fine out here.

But i have a Black Motor that pulls in the signal, like sun light in the morning. Rolling with laughter 08 FL2 SE TD4 manual,Santorini Black, Factory fitted Black Tinted Glass, Anti-Tesco Trolly Side Protection, bebe confort axiss carseats & Cargo barrier to stop twin's buggy & junk coming through. Landrover do know about this problem on the low line stereos. i expect a TSB in the not so distant future. Richh they all do that!
