VW Passat Alltrack

In the never ending quest to find a replacement for the F2, I'm looking at a Passat Alltrack, (The 190PS engine), I'm booking a test drive of a used (2017) one for this weekend, and was wondering if anyone has any experience of the vehicle. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

No experience of the VW but I have looked at the Volvo Cross Country range.

Iā€™m sure a member on Disco4.com has a V90CC and they have nothing but praise for it. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Not the Passat but we also have a 2.0 Tdi VW Tiguan 4motion. Had it 6 years and nearly 100k miles. Only needed 1 front spring and 2 suspension bushes over and above normal servicing. It's a great car and a lot more frugal than the Fl2. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

a relative of mine went from D3 to D4 and then 18 months ago got a brand new XC90 R Dynamic 3.0D.... and hates it. Cant wait to get rid of it this December.

He (and his wife) say the all the autonomous safety features are massively over sensitive even after Volvo turned the sensitivity right down and disable what they could. He also says its inanely boring to drive and doesn't look forward to getting into it as much as he did with the D4.

Not suggesting that Volvo are bad cars as they are far from it, just that they are little bit boring and unengaging.

Had a brand spanking new same model and got shot within 3 months Surprised

Most uncomfortable ride ever IMHO. ( Neck and spine issues so was good whatsoever for me personally ) If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

If you don't get on with it - have a serious look at the Ford Edge - I've been boring people to death in another thread about my search for a replacement for the FL2 and have now settled on an Edge Vignale which I pick up tomorrow Smile

Good luck and enjoy yourself Thumbs Up No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

It will be unengaging if he was expecting a 3.0 as Volvo only offer 2.0 on the XC90 Whistle Laughing 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
