if i go over my 12,000 miles per year limit whats the charge

Hi all ,
if i go over my 12,000 miles per year limit does anyone know what the charge is? i believe its per mile
the reason i ask is that it is due soon to go in for first service(1 year old) and we are getting close to the limit we may have to stop using the FL so we dont go over because the penalty charges may be high.
or we could just keep using it then get the milage "Corrected"
anyone know how much the "vehicle milage correction" people charge, would anyone be able to tell its been corrected
is it 12,000 per year or do they just check it at the end ie... 36,000 after the 3 year term ,so does it not matter what you do in the first 2 years just that you have done under 36,000 by the end of the 3rd year???
sorry not very good at explaining this ,hope it makes some kind of sense
all the best David Wax on Wax off

Basically your contract allows you 36000 over your period of it

You could do this in the first year without penalties as long as you don't drive again to put more miles on it

Have a look at your contract, and work out what you would be charged at the pence per mile they state in there

The work out how much you need to drive

If this turns into clocking thread then it will be locked as we can't as a forum condone illegal activities Rolling Eyes

Its illegal under these circumstances Exclamation

Look what you've done ,you've made pinky write in red Shocked even I've never done that to him Laughing

I'd say the its 36,000 over 3 years rather than 12,000 a year but you'd have to check your individual agreement.

or just drive as much as you like, then torch the car just before its 3 years old, that seems to be the latest money saving scam At work

My local dealer will charge me something like 11p per mile over the 36,000 limit.

Even if you did 1000 extra a year, at £0.11 pence per mile than its only £110 per year

£330 for going over by 3000miles in 3 years, which i am sure will have been cheaper than 3 years of payments on 39000 term Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I bet in this day and age with the FL2's computer and stuff they'd be able to tell. There's bound to be some kind of backup odometer somewhere. You'd have to be on drugs to try that on a lease car. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

ok ,ok calm down all you lot ,and no I am not on drugs and i was just speaking hypothetically airing a question/opinion/discussion ....you know like you do on forums at least it prompted some responses and thanks Dave, npinks and George for the usefull info re mileage and overall 3yr term
If it turns out to be around 11p per mile thats fine i was worried it may be £1 per mile or somthing stupid like that ,and yes you can clock a lease car a friend of a friend i know who works in the city was fed up because a work mate got a new car before him so he had it clocked forward so he could get a new company car quicker .........all that fuss just for it (porsche) to sit in the station car park every morning
Happy motoring David Wax on Wax off

It should say on your paperwork what the excess mileage charge would be, if you put your hands on that then you get a bigger picture

TBH its one reason i don't lease cars, one year i could do 12, the next 20, so we paid for it outright Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I think from now on David should post a picture showing his cars odometer every week so we can keep a check on him Laughing , and if he gets caught cheating he has to come and polish my car for free Whistle At work
