Removed the Heko wind deflectors. Made a world of difference to the view and it's brighter in the cabin I can tell you. Also now they are removed, combined with my lift kit and larger tyres, it actually feels larger in the cab too. Placebo effect probably, with letting more light in....
Deflectors seemed to be letting in road noise when I went on holiday 2 weeks back. Never happy with the way the fitted in the first place. They were fitted to combat the drumming sound when the rear windows were down, but made no real defference.
Looked good fitted though.... Whistle

Visited Brecon today and spotted this parked at side of the road.

I wondered if this 'home made' off road mobility scooter was really a 'yet to be announced' version of the new Defender in disguise.
It's body was made out of substantial looking aluminium checker plate.
I must admit that I was a bit envious of those tyres/wheels and its 'up market' sound system.

Wheels and tyres seem to be getting bigger and bigger. A couple of days ago I saw a FL2 fitted with 275/40 tyres on 20 inch wheels in my local Lidl car park. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

not today but got back yesterday after a weekend in Norfolk followed by a week on the Devon coast.

2 bikes on the back to Norfolk and the back full of gear for camping, car was lovely and relaxing to drive down the A17 and came into its own as the camping field was an unmaintained very uneven large field.

Roof box, small trailer loaded with a large amount of camping gear, 3 adults and dog to Devon so a nice 4 hours down the M1/M42/M5 ... even more relaxing drive

FL2 never skipped a beat, other than some stuttering which may be gearbox needing a flush that I already knew about, and returned 33.6mpg over the course of both journeys.

Saturday took mine for an Oil and filter change at my preferred LR Main Dealer Sinclair (formerly Likes) up near Brecon.
Took the time while waiting to mooch around the showroom to see if anything grabbed me if my numbers came up, sadly it was a no to both. Andrew

Tip run, 100+ metres of old guttering, downpipes, junctions etc......two bags of garden waste, a pile of speedframe I made a work bench from 30 years ago.........plenty of Tin tents to avoid, why do they insist on going down lanes which are obviously too small when there are sign posts directing them to correct route to the campsite? Censored Censored Censored

All starts in ernest next week I fear......school holidays start Shocked Rolling Eyes Regards

Drove around trying to work out this Censored noises, slight like sucking or Whistle Whistle noise seems at acceleration and new noise is there since Haldex pump changed which is weird sort of valve pumping sound!!!

That's the trouble with Cornwall....
developed themselves as a tourist resort and then forgot to improve the access for all those happy campers.

Iโ€™m sitting in Strensham Services on the M5 pondering my ยฃ4 egg and sausage ( singular ) muffin . Left Halifax at 4:30 am brimmed the tank with BP diesel , and got here without a halt , mainly on cruise at 75mph , and a spell of 50 on the M42. Indicative MPG 42.7 . Not bad going for a 10 year old 160 horse auto . The car cruises beautifully since the new rear struts last year .

Another 50 miles to Teague Precision Engineering In Sherston , the dream workshop for shotgunners , and then back up to West Yorks for a late lunch in Wakefield 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

I stopped at Strensham twice last week, once on the way down the M5 and once on the way back.

you should try Gloucester services a bit further down, underground Eco garage shop and services, no fast food as its actually a posh farm shop..... in fact they are the poshest and cleanest services ive ever seen Laughing
