Yep, £6075 in total, so the car was due in for the major service at 145,000 miles and also had the MOT booked, it passed the MOT with a front indicator failing which was fine, then the 4X4 specialist found that what we thought was the clutch playing up turned out to be the gears including the planetary gears which also meant a new clutch plus the £815 for the major service, new tyres all round and new pads and discs all round, so we’ve literally bought a car… what I can say now is that it’s a lovely car to drive now, at least we have what I feel is now a really solid car!

I’ve been told it looks like it was a company car, high mileage and must have been driven hard for a while.

So today I received the package and had got myself setup previously, you’ll need to clean all the trim with either bug cleaning spray and a soft scrubbing brush or wash the car and use a brush, after it dried I used a rag and some methylated spirits to really clean off all contaminates, a lot off muck came off with a quick wipe. Dabbed the C4 onto their applicators and quickly moved up and down the trim including the roof rack, left it on for 5 minutes and then rubbed off with a clean rag, now I might have fallen for their hi-tech jargon but when I wiped off the excess it really did feel like it bonded with the trim and not like I was trying to carefully keep the back to black from coming off, the result is not a super shiny surface, it just looks like a new piece of plastic trim, very impressed so far from such a small bottle! I’m renewing the roof rack bars tonight.

Nice.

Washed car on weekend after muck galore. Been about 3 months since Boiled Linseed went on, and it's still.... OK. Black has faded a bit, but still better than it was before application.

Think i'll try the C4 when summer comes around.
