Rear door offside not locking on key fob

Lo all, noticed today that the rear offside door doesn’t lock on the fob anymore. It locks internal on the manual mech but. It the fob. I have a My13 SD4 HSE LUX AUTO. It’s the new type key fob version. Have tried both fobs. All other door work / lock fine. Any help / advice ?

Hi

I had the same problem on my 2014 model the offside rear door lock had been playing up for several weeks now. I ordered up a new replacement door actuator electric motor number 1020098 which arrived the other day, I bit the bullet and stripped the door actuator out of the car and then took it to bits to replace the motor, refitted the actuator back to the car and tested all working well. Just out of curiosity I thought I would strip the old motor down and see what had failed. it was totally shot the carbon brushes were worn out 100% and the com was also worn down. (See attached photo) The car is just five years old so I would not of expected to see the sort of failure. But on the positive side the motor was £10 verse a new LR actuator at £115 The whole job took about 2 1/2 hours. If you're going to do this it isn't a difficult job just a bit labourious you have to take your time and not rush anything .

You have to take the outer handle off to remove the assembly because trying to unclip the cables in situ is not recommend therefore, will probably also need the end cap CXJ500060 about £10 from a LR dealer as the moulded clips break when removing.

I broke the clips on my end cap. Out of interest do they come in different colours at the dealer?

Hi

No the door handle caps are either black CXJ500060 or primed ready for colour coding. LR030914 for a 2014 model there is a change point at chassis no DH000001 (D being the model/build year) see the online pars catalog:-

Hello
Does this thing start gradually? Noticed that the clunking seemed to happen twice and 2 beeps when I locked mine today....or maybe I pressed the button an extra time?? Mind elsewhere

When mine went it went suddenly. Was working then wasn't. If it beeps twice after locking it usually mesns something is still open. Once youve locked it and heard the two beeps check the doors and if one opens its probably goosed. Thumbs Up
