Hard Shifting

I have an LR2 with about 136k on it. I am having a problem with hard shifting, as the transmissions gets warm, usually after about 5 to 10 miles, the shift from 2 to 3 and also in to reverse is very hard. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I'd start with a gearbox oil change. Probably the original oil. Might be burnt. Check for metal filings.

Time for a new gearbox valve body.

An oil change might make it a bit better for a while, even Dr Tranny help a bit but in the end you will have to replace the valve body.

I changed the oil, but still doing it. Best to change the valve body or try and work out what solenoid is faulty.

TBH I’d search out a transmission specialist who knows what they are doing with the Aisin Auto Boxes, they are a little different from most others and require proper knowledge if they need a rebuild. Regards

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

I'd be very impressed if you can isolate the faulty solenoid and only replace that one!
