same as mine then, September 2012 on a 62 plate, ive had a 2013 model and the only thing I miss really is the Meridian head unit as its much easier to use than the Alpine branded system. Like you say, less troublesome headlights too as my 2013 kept blowing bulbs. Ive already upgraded the main/dipped/side bulbs in this one so they are spot on |

I am getting dead confused here (not difficult I know).......all this talk of busted bulbs etc and the type of lamps they affect.

the later projector headlights, where there is only 1 bulb for dipped and main, are HB3 and they have a shutter that comes down over the bulb to direct the light for dipped/main. The problem is that the shutter retains the heat around the bulb which results in overheating and failure.

OK.....one more question, you say “later” projection headlamps, what bulbs did the early projector headlamps have then?

Hang on, do you mean before the face lift with the DRL LEDs in the headlamps the FL2 had just dip projector type and main beam was by the inner main lamp like mine? So in effect the projector was halogen but not a bi-ode type just dip?
