Can an old Key Fob be reprogrammed???

Hi People,
Whilst tidying my wardrobe the (lost) key fob dropped out of an old pair of trousers. Now i've sold the FL2 some time ago but my question is, 'Can a Key Fob be reprogrammed'? Maybe this would be useful to someone as a back up???

Many thanks for any help,

Chris

I was told 'no' as only virgin keys can be programmed. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Well if the case is still in good condition somebody might like it to do a swap....... Regards

David
