Sat Nav Screen

HI
I have been on this site for some time picking up good tips but this is my first post, Please be gentle.
My satnav screen has got damaged and I have a replacement screen but I am not sure if I should disconnect the battery before I start, I have searched the site and found a very good post that explains removing the panels but there is no mention of disconnecting the battery first.
FL2 59 Reg XS. Thank you. Confused

Welcome! Although it is not essential to disconnect the battery best practise would suggest that you remove the earth lead just to be on the safe side. Thumbs Up

As above. There are FET's buried all over the vehicle, so better to be safe than sorry. I learned this the hard way when I lost my rear number plate lamps. MY13 HSE Lux.......faultless since new.

Field Effect Transistors. They are very temperamental when it comes to voltage surges/drops, and can blow quite suddenly, or cause a lot of hidden gremlins across the loom.
