Ah - the bridge on Muttonhole Road! This is a narrow stone bridge with a tight bend on to it after coming down a steep(ish) hill. The Council decided to improve it, so it was shut for a couple on months. The "improvement" consisted of a kerb down each side with possible Guiness Book of Records narrow pavement. Oh - and some signs about a width limit.

Now, Jim lived near the bridge, had a Series I LWB pick-up, competed in motorsport, and had a trailer with stick-out wheels. This had been across the bridge countles times but was wider than the new limit. However, Jim noticed that nothing had changed, apart from the silly kerbs, and found he could still get his trailer across the bridge just fine if he got the wheels up onto the kerbs each side.

They have now added cast iron bollards and even narrower limit signs. D4 still goes across as wing mirrors pass over the top of the bollards. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Just stick a matching patch of gaffer tape onto the near side mirror cover and start a fashion trend. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

I have some gaffer tape that is 40 meters wide. Unfortunately it is only 2" long. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!
