Diolch chaps think I will go with what I know and head for GG. No off-roading but my lanes can be a tad dicey Shocked couple that with two mostly motorway trips to Scotland a year the rest on tar.

The old saying you only get what you pay for aye? If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Might be a bit more but these seem very good, only had them fitted a few weeks but lovely on road and look like they should behave well on the few muddy fields we may encounter.

 Regards

David

Yep still loving my GG AT3s.
Wearing very well and noise and grip very good also. I did prefer the look of the tread pattern on their old AT though.
Got a couple of thousand miles of caravan towing on French motorways to look forward to in July, I'm sure they'll cope admirably with that too. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Just to throw another tyre in any experience with Vredstein Quatrac 5's anyone ? ...I'm considering them or Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S ?

I'm looking for something for all year round use with very little off road more the odd field winter and summer as my daughter goes to horse trials

many thanks all

I've just had Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S fitted in 245/70/17...
Having used both the standard wranglers, Kumho 771 and also Coopers on a Disco, I'm giving the Coopers a try!

Look good, although new tyres really make me think I should treat it to a clean... 2000 Xei 1.8 gone
2004 HSE Td4 Auto, MT's, sump guard, sliderz - gone
2014 GS Man - AT's, Mantec Sump guard and tank guard, split charger in boot, towbar, work in progress...

Am tempted with the Vredestein Quatrac 5s to replace current Nokian Weatherproofs. I want the best tyres for when the roads are slippiest - which down ere means in the wet most of the time. I swap winter and summers on one of our other cars but on the Freely I want an all season. I like the GG AT3 and would have them if I needed better off road performance but their rated poor performance in the wet on tarmac is (for me) not good enough. The Noks have been fine for my off roading and fantastic in the wet. I would buy same again but for some (mild) cracking on the tyre face - well documented on the net. I don't know if Nokian have addressed the problem - hence looking at the Vredesteins which were top rated by Auto Bild - clicky here: - http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2019-...e-Test.htm Not much in it price wise. I doubt if the Vreds would be as good as the Noks in the field but the Freely is great even with Wranglers for my mild off roading forays.

Thanks for this info as I am considering renewing my tyres before winter sets in, and as I am in the South West rain is the main hazard.
The test does show Vredestein Quatrac 5 as a good wet tyre at a very good price.

Is there anyone who is running these tyres on the forum? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
