Yea, its one of many doing the rounds at present.
They are driving me mad with the spoof emails and texts. My spam blocker is working well and has identified 99% of the dodgy ones. Interestingly I get get most spam calls and texts to my work mobile which is a number I dont share with anyone outside my work. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

I had a spam call telling me there was a problem with my broadband. I then put the phone down several times on an almost identical genuine call from BT telling me there was a problem with my broadband...
Turns out BT sold me a broadband package with a guaranteed speed which they now realise they can't deliver. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I still regularly get the "you were recently invioved in an accident that wasn't your fault" calls. I go along with them for a while just answering "yes" to all their questions but without giving any information away. After a while they get a bit annoyed when you say yes and don't actually answer their request for information. At that point I say to them that they are the other driver and were at fault so when are they going to give me the money. It's a bit of fun if you have 10 minutes to spare and it does stop them calling another potential victim in that time.

I had one of those ''you've been in an accident'' calls not so long ago while I was at work.

I expressed shock at how quick they were as the accident only happened that morning and I was currently at the hospital awaiting emergency surgery to repair 2 broken legs and a broken neck. As the call went on my injuries got worse and worse until such point as my heart had actually stopped and I was struggling for breath.

the whole time he just carried on following his script Rolling with laughter

my work colleagues loved it too Bow down

haha...I do the same, although in my case I was stuck down a well, one of my legs was bent over my head.....and arm is broken......and I ask how they knew so fast as I am still waiting for the emergency services to arrive, at the point when I ask if they called them as no-one else is around oddly they often hang up Laughing Regards

I have had a number from italy ring me on two occasions, the first was one ring and then hung up, the second time it was half a ring and then hung up. I googled the number and apparently its a scam where they hope you ring back the number at which point it rings and rings and appears not to be answered - however it actually gets picked up straight away and the ringing is actually a recording and you end up paying the premium rate call charges, quite clever that one...
