I'm in SE London and been an owner for less than 6 months. Found RCV in East Peckham Kent, who gave the car a full service just after I bought it. No complaints, save the fact that they're about 30 miles away - they do have courtesy cars, Astras, but don't do my back any good Sad so I'm pretty reliant on getting a mate to pick me up etc.
Any one use other Indys in this next of the woods?
Can't get the Indy map to open so can't see for myself

By way of an update, does anyone use RCV?. Needing them to look at the auto-jolt issue and an MOT. Have emailed a couple of times, no response. Called, but constantly engaged, even now when they're closed, so could be a telecoms issue?.
In the meantime, anyone used LRR in Charlton or Dakar Cars, Swanley?

Have since been back to RCV for an MOT and service. Very pleasant guys in reception, very professional all around. Would recommend.
Seems the issues I was having before was due to telecoms and not their reluctance or inability to answer the phone Wink

BG Land Rover just outside Monmouth was recommended to me and have proved to be excellent. It's a trip of 27 mils from where I live but worth the slight inconvenience to have found a garage that I can have some confidence in.

I can heartily recommend Black 90 at Whitley, between Doncaster and Selby just off the A19

Rob Drysdale owns and runs it. He worked on my D2 and my FL2 all the time I lived in the area. Completely honest and trustworthy can usually be tempted to make you a brew too.

Last time I was there (couple of years since we moved) he had a series Landy that he was doing a full nuts and bolts rebuild on. His own car has been across Morocco amongst other places.

Website here - https://www.black90.co.uk/

I have just moved into a new area so I’m looking for a new reliable garage. I’m now 10 miles south of Bedford near Shefford and have found Woodside Land Rover specialist a very short distance away near maulden.

Has anybody used them or can recommend another garage in the area before I stick my car in for a cambelt change and wheel bearing replacement? A side note reference wheel bearings, has anyone else had an issue with regular bearing failure? I think I’ve had to change 3 so far and this is the 4th. Drivers side bearings seem to like to fail, unless the garage I’ve had them changed at was using rubbish parts!

The map doesn’t work for me so I presume it’s no longer being administrated?

Can't help with reference to a garage near you.

Wheel bearings I can help with, you have the option of just a wheel bearing or a complete hub assembly. By the time you have paid them to strip the bearing out of the hub and pressed the new one in you will find it as cheap to fit a complete hub. The bearings can be tight - my NS front wouldn't shift with a 50tonne press, at which point there was a very good chance that the hub would have been distorted by the attempt, so even if new bearings had been fitted they would have failed in short order.

Doing the job myself on the driveway, without the aid of a press - new hub every time, turns what can be a right pain into a few enjoyable hours spent twiddling with the spanners. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Yeh I always pay for a new hub assembly, I’m assuming they are fitting one. This time it’s drivers sided rear, which I believe can not be a hub assembly as it’s got all the handbrake stuff. Everywhere I’ve looked rear bearings are bearings only whereas front the hub assembly is an option.

I think I’ll just buy the bearings. The cambelt and water pump arrived a couple of days ago so I’ll only be paying labour.

Reference your story about rust and presses, the first one I had done the garage were on the phone a few times as they were struggling to get the half shaft off. It was pretty well rusted in there. They had the whole driveshaft out in a vice and were telling me if that didn’t work they would have to give up and I’d have to take it to Land Rover. Not a problem now though as the bearings are regularly out!

I think I’ll just use the Land Rover specialist near where I’m working now. They will have Monday to Friday to get it sorted for me to drive home so it should work out quite well hopefully. I’ll give them a call tomorrow, fingers crossed their labour fee is acceptable.

Can 100% recommend MMP Land Rover in Dundee. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
