Do you need a bit more air in the front tyre? Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Once you have been on our outback roads you are more aware of looking after tyres and check them every day in the outback.

Mostly diesel down under but I do see quite a few Petrol i6, haven't seen many Si4. I have the Ford Eco Boost 2.0 Litre engine. It's brilliant with low down torque, you would think it was a diesel. Just a lot more refined than the diesel in my sister's Evoque & none of the diesel carcinogens!

LR in their infinite wisdom dropped the I6 quite early on over here, and we were never offered the Si4 as an option.

Down under the Si4 is only available as an SE. The diesel comes in 3 levels of trim.

Axel, That is a fair point......... For me personally I find it ironic that the S80 was the starting point for the Freelander 2. In a way you could say that the S80 is the father and the Freelander 2 is the son. And in my case I am a father but I'm driving the Son and my son is driving the father. My son was driving a 2002 Buick Lesabre so the S80 is an upgrade even if its not up to the LR2 HSE spec. Thanks for your comments Paul |

RogB, I really like the 3.2 and I've owned it since 2008 but I only recently learned that the Ford plant in the UK built the engine. This is the case for Land Rover and Volvo. It is a bit sad that it was built in the UK but not sold in the UK. Take care Paul |

Lightwater, In the peoples republic of California we can't get the diesel. I haven't driven the 2.0T but my friend will be glad to hear that, he used to work at Ford and he only owns Ford's. I told him that the 2008 LR2 is a Ford and that he can buy one. He mentioned something about Tata and I said "Never heard of them" Take care Paul |
