After a few hours between the car and the internet I have solved my pairing issues.

It worked for me so here goes. Firstly go into google on your blackberry and type in 'Bluetooth pairing helper application' You can find the blackberry programme there. It is a small download programme which loads some firmware onto your phone to assist with the task. There are instructions on the dowload page which tell you how to sync to your car.

Now here is the important part.... The phone stumbles on pairing because of 'GROUP' contacts in your phonebook. The phone/car phonebook transfer creates an anomoly and a 'Java.lang.classcast exception'.

Delete the 'group' addresses then follow the pairing instructions and the phone pairs first time every time.

I have a pearl 8100.
