N/S/R Door won’t open from inside or out

Hi guys. I’ve done a few searches on the forum for people’s door locks. The majority seem to open from the outside or still open however my passenger rear won’t lock/unlock and the door won’t open from the inside or out. Is this likely to be a cable fault or the solenoid. If I click the unlock button about 30 times it will start to open from the outside but then after a few goes of opening and closing it won’t open again from in or out. If anybody has any ideas please let me know so I can order the correct part. Thanks in advance

Also, if it makes any difference, the lock on the door on the on the inside is very stiff and it won’t lock/unlock when I try and move it (very stiff) when I remove the door card and press unlock I can hear it but nothing seems to happen apart from the cable nudges a little

Hi. I have the same problem. I can't open the passenger door at all. The other doors open fine. Can anybody help us?

Wear and tear issues just like any other consumables with no magic fix. Once a year I will spray into my doors lubrication spray (WD40 does not lubricate its a easing spray) hoping it hits moving parts and forestalling simple failures You never know you may drop lucky if you try that over a few days.

There are some YouTube videos around about stripping doors out if you are a competent DIY type and others have posted on here their experiences but every door opening failure will not be the same issue so you get could several different answers to your question.

A code read may tell you if the lock motor has failed but if you need to pay for that service why not just find a good local type garage and take the hit to get it put right.

If you need some new parts on a DIY basis Dan at Duckworths will be able to sort you out

Or if you are like me with no mates does it really matter with it being a passenger door and you do have 3 others plus a tail gate to climb int through:whistle: For years I had viva van with a front door hinge held together with a six inch nail Laughing FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

If I was you, I would do the following.

Firstly, try the internal plipper emergency key in the special lock hole (Outside of passenger door) - That may work.

If not, get an assistant to sit inside the car with the plipper and simultaneously unlock the car using the inside door handle AND the plipper unlock. Meanwhile, you pull on the outside lock whilst thumping the door in the lock area with the palm of your hand (All at the same time as your assistant).

If neither of the above work, then you are going to need a disc cutter ! FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

I am not sure how the front passenger side emergency mechanical door key works on the system, but I would have though it overrode any front passenger door lock problems? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
