Mpg and boot 12v socket

Have had my fl2 for just over a month, was a little disappointed with the mpg, a few tweaks and massive improvements.
1. Fitted a blue spark chip, (£79).
Mpg jump up to 30mpg.
2. Adjusted the blue spark chip to add more torque.
3. Fitted a egr blanking plate (£4)
Mpg is now +40 none motorway miles. :
Happy days

Fitted a rear 12v socket, took me 30mins, eBay for the socket and inline fuse, cost of £3.

Removed the boot light, drilled a 24mm hole, the using a stiff wire push down through the hole until it came out of the rubber boot seal, then pulled the 2 core wire to the hole for the socket.
Wired the positive into a spare fuse socket, after testing for 1 which is only live with the ignition on.
Dead easy,

Getting rather addictive to adding etc to my new toy. Is it just me or is it a Land Rover thing??

The blue spark has 2 modes,
Mode 1 more power now 190bhp or so they say,
It has made the car more drive able, turbo lag reduced, increase in mpg by 5%
Mode 2 more torque, and 180bhp or so blue spark told me.

Would recommend the unit, dead easy to fit, and if not happy can return it to them.

Funny you say that, as I thought the same,
I called my insurance before buying it and they told me as long as it was less than 20% more power then no impact, just the usual £30 admin fee.
So best phone and ask.

The Unit does come with a quick fitting blanking plug which puts the system back to standard in seconds, get out of jail card!!

Which Blue Spark thingy did you buy - I've just been on their web site and they don't seem to do one for a Freelander 2?

Also when you place the order you have to give all your car details - Bluespark then hard program the box to your specific car spec.

Which bit?
12v Supply - not long and straight forward.

Bluespark Chip - this was a little difficult to get the connector off the common rail sensor. Had to call Bluespark and they talked me through how to get the connect apart using a tie wrap.

The electrical connects are always a little stiff and a technique is required to pull them apart.

Another convert for Bluespark! It has reduced the turbo lag and spools up quicker & lower down in the rev range. Mpg is improved too.
I am now awaiting my EGR blanking plate to complete the job. Cheers,
Raz
