Rear Hatch Scuff Proctector - Removal

Just wondering if any one has instructions on removing the rear hatch load space scuff protector..

Are there any screws or is it just clipped into place... Nick Ward

If you are referring to the strip on top of the rear bumper, then its only pressed in. Get something under one edge and pry off, push back on.

Its dead easy. You can do it with your fingers, so no risk of marking you paint with a screwdriver.

YouTube is a wonderful thing. Particularly the videos posted by Powerful UK Ltd

Easy to pull up. a lot of dirt gets under there. Just make sure you push it back in place properly so it does not rub paint off the bottom edge of the door. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thanks for the replies, I am not referring to the insert on top of the bumper\fender. I am looking at the plastic that sits just inside the rubber door seal that surrounds the latch.

That part of the trim is removed in a similar way. if you start at one side you should be able to get your fingers under the edge of the trim (just behind the rubber seal) and gently pry it away by pulling upwards. It is held in place by a number of plastic lugs with metal spring clips. Refitting is just a case of lining up one of the lugs with the corresponding hole in the car and tapping it down into place with your hand. Pull the rubber seal out into place so that it sits correctly once the trim is back in place. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the advice, here is the piece successfully removed...

This was part of installing the trailer electrical kit, just need the dealership to "turn it on" now.
