Head Rests - Jammed/stuck - help - 2011 GS

Hi All,
I have been trying to remove my head rests inorder to fit some waterproof seat covers and the damned things will not seem to release. I am pushing in the adjuster release and whilst they go up and down to the adjustment notches OK they will not lift out. Having read the handbook I cnnot see what I am doing wrong so your guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks Confused Confused

OK. looking at the drivers headrest the adjuster is on the right, adjust fully upwards.
on the left pole their is a small plastic peg (on the pole to seat plastic ring)

.... that needs to be pushed in, WHILST PRESSING THE ADJUSTER and the headrest will release. You may need to recline the seat backwards to fully release the headrest from the seat back.
