My local garage mechanic who did my cambelt etc is going to change all the oils that need doing for the 10 year service, he tells me I am wasting my money as when he drains out mostly it still looks like new.

I have persuaded him to do it anyway & so need some help in what oils I need to get & quantities. I think its front & rear diff/Haldex unit & Gearbox that need doing, is there anything else on the Haldex that needs looking at as well. i.e. filter of any sort.

My car is a 2.2 SE 2007 vintage.

Haldex has a throwaway filter and washable filter. Needs to be taken apart to do them easily. If you can get there easily get to Bell to let them do it.

Manual Transmission/Front Differential - Castrol MTF97309, LR Part No. LR006247, 1.9 liters 
Transfer Case - BOT 118 PLUS 75W90, 0.75 liters You need to syringe out the old oil. The level is fill to top of the fill hole then syringe out 120ml
Haldex - Statoil SL01-301, LR Part no. LR003136, 0.65 liters (available from Bell).
Read Differential - Castrol EPX 80W90, LR Part no. LR003156, 0.7 liters

Thank you for coming back to me with the info and the oils that you now need are. Gearbox TRX SYNTH 75W/80 2ltrs, Transferbox TRX SYNTH 75W/90 0.75ltrs, Rear Differential TRX SYNTH 75W/90 0.75ltrs. The front differential is from the Transaxle manual gearbox. Please note do not use the 75w/90 for the gearbox you must use the 75w/80 as you will not be able to select the gears if you use a 75w/90 grade and I know it seems a bit of a inconvenience in having to buy two gear oils but it is down to the design of the gearbox and for fuel economy. Take no notice of the antifoaming BOT oil as all gear oils have anti foam additive otherwise the oils would be all over the place. They try to frighten people into taking the car into the main dealers and pay through the nose for something which they think is special and it is not.

I emailed Austin & Bell on Tuesday evening but did not get a reply, I used the email from their website. I used info@bellengineering.co.uk
