I've been a Land Rover enthusiast for 20 years unfortunately I'm away on holiday then. Common sense isn't very common.

Just because we are not going to a particular show doesn't mean we are not Land Rover enthusiast. |

We've had Land Rovers in the family for 60 plus years! Long before they became a fashion accessory!

Yes axle. FFR winterised, hence the batteries being either side of the rear tub instead of between the seats, to make way for an arctic heater. |

Winterised FFR Lightweight would either mean ex Royal Marines (including attached Royal Signals) or ex 249 Signal Squadron (AMF-L).

Sadly the B-card states it spent it's time with the Royal Anglians before transfer to various Gurkha regiments, none of whom used winterised vehicles. An email to Deepcut came back as Gurkha and RMP. So that conflicts with the B-card. However, while restoring the Landy I uncovered the possible reason. The chassis was a replacement by the ABRO. It has no chassis number stamped on it either. Despite the fact it was obviously winterised, it's suspected that it's military VIN plate was "lost" during the chassis change so any old VIN was used as long as that VIN belonged to an FFR. This was further backed up by an ex-REME guy who said it was common practice.

Worked out where this show you mentioned is held. Pity didn't know of it earlier as I'm caravanning around England then, but have booked to be in Yorkshire that weekend.

That is hugely expensive! I know the Caravan Club is dear, but at least you get tarmac roads and paths, and brick built toilets and shower blocks. Oh - and a much cheaper price than that! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |
